“Metallurgy for the Non-Metallurgist”
The Boston Section in conjunction with Assabet Valley Technical School held a two day workshop featuring renowned metal fabrication and metal shaping specialist Fay Butler. Fay demonstrated straitening and shaping a flat piece of steel into an elaborate curved section using only a hammer and heat. Fay currently offers seminars’ on how to shape metals for restoration of antique automobiles. He has worked with many individuals and large companies showing them how to shape metals. One of his former students was cable TV celebrity Jesse James.
