GREETINGS FROM YOUR AWS NORTHWESTERN PA SECTION BOARD MEMBERS

The monthly meetings are a platform to ask all members and interested parties to join us and give your input on what you would like to see happen with the Northwestern PA Section. We will be soliciting ideas for speakers & events for future AWS meetings. This would be a good opportunity to let us know of welding subjects that are of interest or that you need assistance in.

** If there are any of you out there that are within the Northwestern PA Section’s boundaries that are registered with other sections (Pittsburgh, Drake Well, & Mahoning Valley) & you are not participating with your current section, I would encourage you to change your registration to the Northwestern Pa Section #060 by calling AWS at 1-800-443-9353 ext. 480 & come join us with our meetings & events.**

There are a lot of welding-related employers in this area, but we don't see many of them at our meetings. It would be to their benefit to be a part of the AWS Northwestern PA Section, so if you know of someone in this category that is not attending our meetings, talk to them & bring them along on the next one.

Please note meetings may be subject to change agenda and/or location. We will notify electronically the email group and by regular mail to those without email, as time allows.

As you are aware, we have lost almost a generation of young people in the welding profession as they were directed to other career & education choices. If you know of anyone unemployed or underemployed, please direct them towards Welding Training to move them into a career that will get & keep them employed & pay them well. We have many such schools in our area such as Fortis Institute, Erie Institute of Technology, Regional Career and Technical Center all in Erie, PMI in Meadville, Triangle Tech in Dubois, New Castle School of Trades in New Castle, Lincoln Weld School in Cleveland, as well as the Vocational Technical Schools in Meadville & Erie. See one of the Board Members or go to their Web Sites for additional info.

Thank you and we all look forward to seeing/meeting you at the meeting.
